Paradise flycatcher
The paradise flycatcher in chinese is termed shou dai niao (绶带鸟). Shou dai is the ribbon attached to a seal or medal. As the paradise flycatcher has a long tail which resemble a long ribbon, it is called shou dai niao (niao is bird). Shou has the same pronunciation as that for longevity. Hence, the bird is commonly used as a symbol of longevity during the Qing Dynasty.
